One thing you expect from the H and R block is total transparency, in fact after charging heavily for filing the taxes, they must be able to answer your questions and make you understand where is your Money is flowing as Taxes. Finally the total anticipated taxes and expected taxes must match close enough. H&R 1. Making mistakes in filing your taxes. 2. Not standing behind your back when they make mistake. They talk about the their so called "Peace of Mind" thing. I never heard of that, neither the tax consultants who charged me heftily explained me about the same. 3. Unable to answer your questions and make you satisfied. After the session you'll think that you have already wasted your useful time with them. So don't go. Better pick individual consultants or think about filing the taxes your self. It doesn't seems to be a rocket science.
